Vol. 15 No. 4 October - December 2023

The collaborations between universities and community result in cultural-embodied products that are developed based on academic knowledge and enhanced by technology. Featured in consecutive editions of the Area Based Development Research Journal, the diversity of products ranges from health and herbal items, food products, textile goods, to community identity reflective souvenirs.

Community products gain increased significance, as they continue to generate income for the community through traditional and online distribution channels, both domestically and internationally. These products benefit remote users, offering them utilization and a sense of connection with locals. Beyond their varying economic values, community products serve as mediums for conveying the value of local resources and history.

Their underlying value comes from the amalgamation of traditional wisdom and local identity with modern interdisciplinary integration in each stage of the process. This necessitates academic challenges in technology, production, quality control, design, and marketing, aiming to maximize the utility of accumulated knowledge.
